I just hit 55, and when I say that aloud, I really can’t believe it. I am happy I’m still here living my life, but of course I can’t help to reflect on the past and feel some sadness that I am now receiving AARP memberships in the mail and qualify for IHOP senior discounts.
The stories here have been written over several years, from just after my cancer diagnosis 10 years ago, to now. I write for my own therapy but I also hope you can relate to these stories, no matter what generation you may be.
Serendipity. Guardian Angels. Fate. Being in the right place at the right time. I believe in all of it. I also believe that bad things happen to good people, and that questioning the universe and why things happen is totally okay. This is life.
So why Duran Duran?
Duran Duran has been a big influence in my life over the years. They’ve gotten me through an abusive relationship, rough patches with my career, every day stresses and a cancer diagnosis. They have been a constant presence throughout much of my life, and have cheered me up when I needed it.
You do not have to be a Duran Duran fan to get something out of my stories. Maybe you are going through a Cancer diagnosis, or just hit a milestone birthday. Maybe you have dealt with abuse, or had a loss of someone dear to you. Whatever life is handing you, maybe one of my stories will help.
Everyone has their own “Duran Duran”. You just have to tune in to find yours.

Eloquent, heartfelt, and quite inspiring. I commend you for channeling your passion in this unique direction! You are the kind of Duranie that makes me proud to be one as well.

I am just seeing this comment in March 2019. 🙂 I actually don’t blog much these days. I got kind of discouraged, but seeing this post gives me hope. I started blogging again about the NOLA show because it inspired me. Thank you!
